In Tanzania you are going to need some currency to get around the beautiful, Tanzanian shillings are used as the national currency for the country. One American Dollar is equivelant to about 1,200 shillings right now so do not be alarmed when a small thing has a 'large' cost. Things may change but at the time 1 USD= 1,188 TZS
Your transportation.
To get to Tanzania the best way will be by plane. The O'Hare airport in Chicago will be your best chance to get to many destinations inside the country of Tanzania. Once in Tanzania the best way to get around locally is a dala dala. Dala dalas are like makeshift busses. There is no organized system so prices vary depending on the syndicates that you chose tohave transport you. But fares will be low as the dala dalas of Tanzania are not run by the government and conductors do not need much since many people need to use the dala dalas on a daily basis and the profit is split few ways.
